Day 58 Heart Hunger

Thank goodness I don't really think I have any heart hunger. Today's exercise is about the type of foods that you reach for when you are feeling depressed, lonely, wishing for a new relationship, etc.

I guess for me the times that would qualify for this type of heart hunger might be when something is going on with my kids that I don't have any control over. I used to feed these emotions a lot in the past but thankfully I have learned that they have to have their own challenges in life - and it is their paths.

So if I did have heart hunger I would now use my ability to stop, take a deep breath and say to myself, what is is that you are really feeling. If it is a stressful situation that I have no control over, then I will say, let it go. It sounds really simple, doesn't it? Well, it takes many years of practice to be able to really let go of stressful situations. Meditation and deep breathing have really helped, too. But mostly the best thing I can do in these situations is to do some positive self talk.
