What a way to start off my morning

Wednesday, October 08, 2014

This House Finch is on our telephone line every morning. 7am, and it is singing away. It comes back in the evening, sings, and watches the sun go down.

DH and I went grocery shopping. After we finished we drove across the street. There is a huge field with Joshua Trees. One area they haven't touched yet, and I hope they don't. I love the desert, and the beauty it has to offer. We drove on one long road, that led to several other dirt roads. Dh and I thought we should bring the dogs there for a walk. Nobody was around, complete solitude. Another reason I love my area, is no matter where you look, you see hills and mountains. Makes my day. Here are a few shots of the Joshua Trees. Each tree has their own shape. Some skinny, others well rounded and full. Some areas were having winds, and you can see the dust in the background. Made it kind of hazy. It isn't smog, just dust.

This was my favorite tree.

Hills and Mountains in my home, Palmdale. I just found out that the Mountains in Palmdale are part of the San Bernardino Mountains. Our Mountains stretch across the southern part of our valley. Jackie, that makes us kindred spirits!

This is where the San Bernardino Mountains start. Stretches east to west.

Tehachapi Mountains, which is north of us.

My Garden Rabbit is ready for Fall. I put one of my new Mums by the Rabbit.

Time to call it a day. Starling getting ready for the Sunset.

There will be a Blood Moon, Eclipse of the Moon, this am. Starts at 5am Eastern time. That makes it 2 am here. Hope I can wake up.

Love seeing the scenery around where you live! Totally different from where I am but that makes it nice to see what southern California looks like, as I will never go there in person. I didn't know about the eclipse until this morning when I got up and it was all over.... emoticon

Thanks for posting the pictures of the Joshua trees, very interesting!

Your Finch sounds like some of my friends, have to see if the same ones come back at sunset.
Open space is wonderful, I can find more on my walks, you really are lucky, hope it stays that way. Joshua's look great. No wonder I have not been able to get a clear shot out your way. You must be windy. For two day I have walked up the clearing to get a picture and it is all hazy. Nice walk anyway.
Glad we are kindred spirits emoticon emoticon
Mr Rabbit is ready for Fall, so cute.
Love the Tehachapi mountains too. I guess I love all those mountains. emoticon

Love the pictures of the Joshua trees. I've only been to the desert once, but I loved it and want to go back.

I didn't get up at 4:30 a.m. to see the eclipse, but the moon last night here in Denver was really bright and big!

Love that the bird wakes you in tne morning and, as always, love your pictures. We have mountains here to the west of us, but no Joshua trees. I'll have to get a picture of my Autumn Purple Ash tree out front. It is changing - great color, but there's rain and wind and cooler weather coming tomorrow and much of the foliage will likely be knocked off.

I so enjoy that you allow us to come along on your outings. Thankyou for including us!

The Joshua trees are so unique and they are great. We have palm trees and southern pines here in south Georgia.

I would like to have those trees round here Jeanne, and as for the mountains I could spend all day out there with my camera and telescope.

Would you like to swap homes but I think you would find this quite cold.

Those Joshua trees are lovely, such different shapes to them.
I hope they don't touch that part of the desert either, nature at her best!
