Cooking for 1

Wednesday, September 24, 2014

When I was growing up I would hover around watching mom cook. That is how most of us learnt to cook. I would try my hand at everything I could. I have been told I am a good cook. My problem is I came from a big family (10 siblings). I did not learn how to cook for 1. My being overweight is from eating the extra servings. Being here with SparkPeople is giving me the hope and desire to learn new ways. Thank you SP for all the help I am getting from every corner of this web sight.
The best move I have ever made.

Hi. I noticed that you wrote this on my birthday. I hope you are meeting your goals. I have been gone for a while, but I intend to be more diligent now. I need motivation. Hard to find!

    Hi Spark Friend!

    So glad your with us!
I know how you feel with cooking for one, although I have a family of 4 I have to cook separate meals... but what I do is measure out just what I would need for one meal. If I do fix something that has several servings, I will immediately separate all the servings in separate containers and put them in the freezer or fridge. That way anytime I pull one serving, and its just that much. It works!
