You will be missed

The other day I had half of a blog put together. I copied and saved what I had written thank goodness, because my computer froze. My computer started running again, but went into snail mode. I got frustrated, so decided to run over to Albertsons, and finish the blog when I got back. Albertsons is real close to our home. A 2 minute drive. I grabbed what I needed grocery wise. I had to buy my favorite drink, Peppermint Mocha, from Starbucks that is inside the store. I have a friend who is the manager of Starbucks at Albertsons. The sweetest person ever. She has Horses. When we were looking for a new place to board our Horses a few years ago she asked if I wanted to board at her place for a real reasonable fee. We would do the feeding and cleaning up after our Horses. She lives in the hills, and there are nice trails there to ride. We were looking forward to riding together. However, she was renting her home, and the person that owned the home didn't want to be responsible for a border. So that canned that idea. Anyway, I would see Kathy now and then and we would chat...I hadn't been to Albersons for about a month, and I want to kick myself for not going there sooner. After they gave me my coffee, I started to walk out of the store, when I noticed a framed picture of Kathy with "we love you" and pretty roses around the frame. I thought "oh, it must be her birthday. I will have to come back". Then I saw "In loving memory". I about passed out. It took everything I had to keep from bursting into tears. I asked the gals that worked behind the counter what happened. They said Cathy died 3 weeks ago of natural causes. Not only was I stunned, Dennis was as well. I am 64, and Cathy was about 10 yrs. younger then me. You just never know what is going to happen in life. Like I said Kathy was the sweetest person. Always a smile on her face. I never saw her in a bad mood. Even when she wasn't feeling well (cold etc.) she was friendly. I loved her red hair. In the summer she would get little freckles that crossed her nose, and they blended in with her red hair. She was cute as can be. I told Dennis I wanted to buy a new plant in her honor and put it in one of my pots. We went to Lowes and I found a red Mum. Perfect. Here is Cathy. I hope her spirit enjoys the Mum's that I bought for her.
Later that day, our Daughter informed us she was giving her bird, Oro, to a friend of hers. I love her bird, but Kathryn thinks her allergies have been acting up due to the bird...I can't blame here there...The minute Oro heard me get up in the morning he would call to me. I tried teaching my birds the "wolf whistle", but the only bird that caught on was Oro lol. I was a bit worried about a new home for Oro though. Some Parrots have a hard time adjusting. When Kathryn's friend came to get Oro, I remembered her from the beauty school Kathryn went to. She is a sweet girl. A quiet demeanor. So Oro should be ok. The gal lives not far from us, so at least we can go visit Oro. I had just taken these pics of Oro, so thought I would share them. It is quieter without him here. What a beautiful bird.
Sorry this blog is a bit of a bummer. I have a ton of pictures to upload, and the rest of my blogs will be of good cheer.
