Seems I am forever trying to catch up. We house/pet sit for a month. Although we had fun, it sure cuts into my schedule. So here are a few pics from two weeks ago. I have a lot of pictures to download yet from my camera. Downloading must burn calories, right? emoticon

Here is Mama and her Ducklings before we brought our baby Ducks home. They are 3 weeks old in this picture. They are so much bigger now.

Well some bad news. The Cockatiel I thought was Ghost, is actually Corky.
Our neighbors had someone else take care of their birds, and water their veggie garden early this summer. When our neighbors got back, their veggie garden had died. It was never water. They had more Veggies growing then what we did. Plus, my friend told me either Ghost died, or somehow got out of the cage, because when they got back, Ghost was gone. Poor Ghost. Corky does like it when I whistle to her, so now I have fun with Corky. The birds looked exactly alike so it was hard for me to tell. Looks like we will be taking care of their house etc. from now on, because we "did a good job". That was a nice compliment! Here's Corky.

Dennis did a great job on the Duck pen. It has a fiber glass top, but if we have a wet winter, or snow, we can cover it with a tarp.

This is the Duck's house. It is on the east side of the house, so the Ducks will be protected from the wind. 90% of the time the wind blows in from the west. The nice thing about these types of Ducks is they can tolerate the cold.

Henley the Hero was checking out the Duck pen.

A Fence Lizard was on the wall by the pen taking a nap.

Our Canna

One of our white roses.

A Sparrow was checking me out.

Starling not far from the Sparrow.

Geranium in our front yard.

I have a team, "Calling All Hounds", and recently added a new leader, MARITIMER3. She has started a September Challenge "10 minutes a day". If you feel you don't have a lot of time for exercise, especially ST, then please join our group. If you don't have a Hound, or even a dog, don't sweat it. We are all here for a purpose, and that is to encourage each other to keep pushing. That's what this team is about. Encouragement.

Have a good Tuesday!

These baby ducks look cute! How many do you have in total? (And sorry to sound so awfully urban, but why do you have ducks? Are the eggs good? Is it as company, like a dog? Other reasons? I am curious! I remember from my childhood at my grandmother's house that the neighbour had ducks and they were incredibly noisy... but I guess it depends which kind of ducks you have! I would love to have hens if I had a house in the countryside!!!)

They are so cute! Wonder how the dogs will be around the ducks?I suppose you won't let them out for awhile or at all?
That is such a shame about the neighbor's garden and bird! Glad you will taking care of them from now on...you know how to treat those animals and gardens! Great job on the pen!! Go Dennis!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Great pictures! Sorry your neighbors had all that happen to them! Somebody wasn't very dependable. Was that a friend of theirs? I wouldn't trust THEM again! Hope they find Corky........ emoticon

So sad about Ghost, maybe he flew away, I found someone parakeet, he was at one of my feeders, found the owner and returned. Glad you are watching their place from now on. The ducks look so fluffy love their home, are you going to have a pond?
Will be an adventure at your home, wonder how Henley and Sarge will do with the ducks, LO

Corky is beautiful! Wow! And I love the ducklings . . . they're pretty darned cute!

I wish you lived closer to me - I'd be begging you to watch my house. It's not always easy to find somebody you trust to do that kind of thing. Plus then you could play with puppies!

How tragic for your friends... Why to people say they will do 'whatever' and then not be responsible enough to live up to their word.... Bad enough about the garden, but the bird, too !! Things that money cannot cure.

I'm so sorry to hear about Ghost, that is so sad.
Love the pictures as always, the ducks are just adorable. You and Hubby will make good "duck" parents!!!!
Henley looks like he thinks the pen is fine for the ducks, I know you needed his approval!!!!

    Your flowers are beautiful!!!!

Zoey was sitting on my lap but when she didn't see Sarge's picture, she got down!!! LOL!!!!

Loving the Hounds team even though I have a Jack Russell!!!!

Hope your Tuesday continues to be great!!!! emoticon

Great blog, Jeanne!! What cute duckies!!!! Your DH built a great pen, too! I think Henley approves, too. If he finds anything that needs to be changed, I'm sure he'll let y'all know!! hehe
So sorry to hear about the bird mix up and the horrible former house sitter!! Sheesh!! It's really not such a big thing to take care of things for folks!! I hope they hadn't given any payment in advance to whoever let the bird disappear and the garden go to pot!
I love all your pictures! That lizard is a pretty one! I used to be alwaysataking pictures of lizards when at Girl Scout camp ( as a leader), b/c I just never see them where I live! My sister in SC has them exerywhere and complains all the time about them, but I think they're cool. I might not like having one in my shoe or jump out of drawer or something, though! hehe But I wonder if having the little bug eaters might be a good thing around here as the mosquitos are pretty bad this year!
I'm going to check out your 10 min. team, Jeanne. I need motivation to get off my butt. I need to realize that 10 is certainly better than nothing and that all or nothing state of mind is killing me.
Stay safe, Jeanne. Love to all the critters! (((HUGS)))

Love the duckies and of course Henley, he just has such a face. How could you resist him.

Are the ducks going to be pets or are you raising them for eggs as well. We had a pet duck for a while, but the fox got her on day. So sad. Looks like you have a very nice pen for them. Enjoy them.

Your bird is very pretty too.
And I really love all your photos, thanks for sharing. emoticon

Those ducklings sure have grown and Dennis has done a brilliant job on their pen.
Sorry to hear about Ghost, people can be so irresponsible you'd have thought they'd have taken care of other people's property better than their own!
Your garden's looking lovely, we officially had the first day of autumn yesterday so we've begun putting the borders to bed for winter, so sad summer's gone emoticon

Wow, you have been busy! That's a shame the other people were so irresponsible in the care of another's place! Glad you were there to help them out.
