Watch out for the big bad wolf!

Wednesday, August 27, 2014

I know, that there are days I don't get enough water---
And look at how much it does for you?

Changing topics here----at about 3pm yesterday, my steps were sitting at around 7500--I needed 10,000 for the day---so------out I went--in the heat----and not only trudged to the boat landing, but went a bit farther up the highway----
Living in Northern Ontario, in the bush, I felt like Goldilocks with the big bad wolf---- singing quite loudly as I walked along a path in that bush----bears and all wild animals use our paths---
I used to think, by the story books, that wild animals bounced through the forest---
.......NOT!------the bush is so thick, they couldn't-----We share the paths with wildlife!
Before I got home, the wee bell on my stepper began to ring telling me, I hit 10,000--
That whole walk probably took me about 30 minutes---
I met no people-----no neighbours out there walking---no wild animals either----
Funny how people to-day do not make ""moving"" a priority!

So----a long weekend is coming----Sparking will help us enjoy many more weekends! emoticon emoticon

No bells on my stepper so I have to check the count from time to time.
14180 steps yesterday. I wonder what sound it would make-maybe a
Woohoo would be nice. Keep on Sparking!

Keep on stepping. Love the walks in the woods. We are lucky to have a wooded off leash park for the dogs here. Not much chance of running into anything other than squirrels and the odd skunk but still it is nice to be able to walk the dogs in the park. Our daily walks is always a factor in meeting my 10,000 steps pre day and indeed on the days I cannot fit the walk in, I have to work even harden to meet that goal.

Enjoy you tramps in the woods and sharing them with the nature around you.

    Have a Sparking day!

It is amazing how that "little machine " keeps us walking and moving!
Vitamin N ( aka vitamin "nature") is a very good thing and keeps us young and great for the brain!
    keep on emoticon

What a great walk you had and you made your 10,000 steps. Way to go!

Do have a Wonderful Wednesday. I leave tomorrow to travel to Kansas for my 50th HS reunion and will be back early next week. If I have time, I will definitely check in.

    Hugs, Sunny

Love those walks. It's wild turkeys I worry about on the trails... they have become quite aggressive. Usually if it is a porcupine or a bear they will, taking their time, get off the trail when they see me and then I just have to decide if it is worth carrying on or backtrack. I KNOW! When I am doing it I am amazed that I have tapped into this amazing activity and want to share it with everyone. LOL and then again I want to keep my little nature places secret because I like the isolation too. Enjoy! And drink your water! emoticon emoticon

Does singing keep the bears away? I can't remember which animals you are supposed to make yourself look small for and which ones you are supposed to make yourself look big for. Been too many years that my boys have been out of scouts. I used to know all this stuff when I helped the boys with scouting. We don't have bears here. Some of the more rural areas report bobcats and mountain lions. I have seen Racoon, Possum and Skunk as road kill, and when I drove my DD to the place where I work a few weeks ago, we saw deer and a live Skunk that I tried not to startle with the car - let it cross the road in peace.

Now you are writing a new book!! Lynda and the Big Bad Wolf!!!! You are quite the prolific writer. Glad that you did not meet a wild animal along your walk. I live in a residential area so the most we have here are foxes, skunks, raccoons, possums and deer. Lots and lots of deer but with more housing developments underway they will soon not be around. It was way more country when we moved here 30 years ago and now the traffic is horrendous and lines at the grocery store. I drive to a park if I want to walk outside. We live at the bottom of two hills and they kill my knees if I try to walk here.

My himself went out to walk the yard yesterday but came back pretty quickly because it was so hot and humid. He is doing well, now getting around without his cane and driving now so I don't have to ferry him back and forth to PT. emoticon Now to get him back to work. The doctor said not until he sees him again 9/10. emoticon

Have a wonderful Wednesday!! Keep avoiding those bears and anything else that would like Lynda for lunch!! emoticon
