12 week fitness challenge day one!

Today was my first appointment for the 12-week fitness challenge at the Y. I like my new coach, Barry. He put me in for my fitness assessment to see where I'm at and so far I can do the following:
15 reps at 65 pounds on the chest press
8 reps at 55 pounds on the seated row
15 reps at 180 pounds on the leg press
8 reps at 55 pounds on the shoulder press
15 reps at 85 pounds on the seated back extension
41 crunches in one minute
I'm also set up for strength training workouts and he told me about metabolic burn if I want to burn more fat. Barry says that some cardio exercises can actually burn calories and fat for up to four hours after and burn more calories overall and are more effective in fifteen minutes than an hour of running or ellipticals (which I still intend to do). Cardio rowing machines, stair climbers, and this pulley thingie he showed me were all metabolic burners and they were pretty hard. I really felt a whole body workout in all of them. You know what else is a metabolic burner? The Jacob's Ladder! Which today I managed over six minutes on so I think I need to update my goal board.
