first week review

I started out last week with only a couple goals in mind. I wanted to not nibble on croutons, breadsticks, or Andes mints at work; go at least two days without eating desserts (I don't really stop or use moderation with those); eat healthier options at work; increase my calorie burn per 45 minutes of cardio each day; work up to three minutes of continues climbing on the Jacob's Ladder, and basically keep any of my spark streaks going as long as I could. I have to say already I can feel a difference.
I actually managed to go four days without getting a dessert and on the days I did have it, I really didn't want it. I just wanted to boost my calorie count for the day. Plus it just wasn't as good to me.
On top of that regarding nutrition I have to say I didn't go over on any of my intake goals but I did go under almost every day. I'm eating mostly fruits and veggies and filling up on them and it's making it difficult to keep my carbohydrates and protein in check. I am finding ways to boost both of them and boosting my calories without eating junk but that's a hard process. I have my calorie goal up on the highest setting (1670-2020) since I'm a waitress and I breastfeed but since I work out as much as I do I'm expected by spark people to take in another 500-700 on top of that. It's too much food! I have to come up with something, but that's going to take time.
As far as fitness there was only one day I went as little as ten minutes (just enough to keep the ten minute streak going!) but every other day was a minimum of 45 on the ellipticals. I enjoyed being able to endure that intensity for so long. The day I did ten minutes I used the stair climber and although I really didn't care for it at least I made my ten minutes count.
The Jacob's Ladder I'll be honest I didn't think I was going to make that goal. Each day that I went in I started on it to warm up and I wore out pretty quickly. I started at 1:15 minutes one day, pushed myself to 1:30 the next, and tried to do 1:45 the following day but could barely make it to 1:10. I took the next day off from the Jacob's Ladder and went straight to the elliptical and surprise surprise--Friday I made it 3:17! I'm now up to four minutes on it as of today (so I've already made my goal for this week!)
As far as for this week my goals have been readjusted. Four minutes on the Jacob's Ladder (already made today!), at least three days without dessert, order off the menu at work less (even if it means bringing along a frozen entree), and continue going without eating breadsticks at work. I'll make sure to do another progress blog next week.
