The day I said I do- and still do all these years later.

My husband and I met when I was 15. He had come from Greece to go to College and he was 19. I met him at the little Greek restaurant that I was working at. His uncle owned it and he had come to live with his uncle here in America. I would have to say that both of us thought that it was pretty much love at first sight as corny as that sounds.
I married him on August 24, 1985 and tomorrow we will celebrate our 29th anniversary together. There have been some hard years as far as finances go since he went on to get his PH.D in History but I would not change anything about our life and our choices. The tough times brought us closer together and after all these years, we are still deeply in love.
I did ask him today if he would still have married me if he knew that I would become a crazy lady that loves to walk long distances and exercise and run 5K's and he didn't really answer the question. As my husband says, nature is way over rated so he may not have thought that walking several miles a day was the ideal way to spend time, but never the less, he does it with me and we always have a great time together.
And even though he hates to admit it, he always has fun when we run the 5K races together.
Through thick and thin, and everything in between, he is my soul mate and best friend and I thank God every single day for bringing this man thousands of miles to a small town named Rochester MN, so that he could meet me and we could fall in love. He is my best friend and the one that I want to walk to the ends of the earth with!
