A Big Turnaround

Monday, July 28, 2014

I've been struggling with depression due to having a chronic illness and with a small medication change and help from my psychologist, I've had a big turnaround in how I am feeling and I've even lost a couple of pounds!

After complaining to my doctor that I am really struggling to do anything, he upped the amount of Abilify I take. After that, I saw the psychologist. She's a great gal! I took a list to her of all the things I want to do and together we re-prioritized my life! I had been putting the house as the number one thing and I was sick to death of that. We put a life back in my life and I feel so much more energized. I am sleeping less and eating less and doing a small amount of exercise and I hope to be adding other good things to my schedule. I finally decided I am going to write as a profession and so I am giving that the position in my life it requires. Then I have another paying job that comes out at the top of the list. Housework has been sent to the bottom of my priority list where it shall remain! :) I do want to get the house in order so I can have company over, but the purpose has changed so that doing it has meaning. And, I'm not going to worry about the house being perfect, just "good enough".

I'm so excited. I even have come up with a story idea I am developing. I think it is going to end up being an adult romance.

Well, so much for that. I just wanted to share with you and maybe give anyone out there hope that things can turn around for you if you are depressed. I feel so much better now about myself and my life. I feel like I am a part of the world now, not just sitting around waiting to die. Yea! :)

So glad that you are feeling better my friend! The house should be the least of your worries right now, but I know how you feel. It seems like even when I do have it under control that it is never enough. It still gets dirty and cluttered every week and if someone should happen to stop by then oh well! lol

You will have to tell me more about this "adult romance" story that you are working on. If you need any funny stories about the woman dating, I have plenty!!! lol

So happy to read of your progress. You always have my support and best wishes!

As for the house issues, are you familiar with flylady.net which is a great website. I haven't been to the site in quite a while, but when I did go there, it gave me just what I needed to keep up with the house at a reasonable level. I believe there is even a spark people fly lady team.

Keep up that positive attitude. Remember...success breeds success and you are off to a great start! emoticon
