Gotta get a new mindset!

In the past, I have been making BIG mistakes. That is, every time I achieved my goal weight, I quit doing the things I needed to do to get there. I quit tracking my food; I quit exercising; I quit seeking out motivation. This time, I hope I have learned my lesson (but I want to avoid over-confidence). My food log is still in place; I have gone to the gym this morning for an hour to "celebrate" the 4th and it turns out that I do feel like celebrating! I have a healthy dinner cooking: baked wild-caught salmon, rice pilaf, fresh squash from my cousin's garden, and a big pot of kale. Later in the day, there will be dessert, maybe an Almost Cheesecake (recipe on SParkpeople) or low-fat butter pecan ice cream. I plan to keep on logging in to Sparkpeoplpe to get my motivation, because without it, I know I can't keep going! Happy Independence Day, everyone! emoticon and emoticon !!!!!! emoticon

    Happy Fourth!! You sound like you are really going to stick with it this time. The meal sounds great, though I am not too fond of kale, I know it is good for us, and my daughter buys it often at Home Foods or Trader Jo's, don't know if you have them where you are but we are happy to be able to get organic foods at those stores.

    Way to stay the course. You are an inspiration. Such will power. I am also doing things to make sure I don't sabotage myself. But don't beat yourself up so bad. You are human. I think we all slack off once we reach a goal. Or we reward ourselves with something like I did for my birthday. Then we regret it for a week. Not worth the momentary joy! Have a great 4th of July!
