ST vs. steps

I am trying to incorporate strength training into my workouts. I don't really enjoy ST, or I haven't in the past, but I think this is partly because I'm not confident in doing it on my own. We joined a new gym, though that has lots of classes that do ST, so I am trying those out and enjoying it more so far. My problem is that I have a goal to walk 10k a day, and I find that on ST days, I really struggle to get that numer, and I often don't even come close. This tells me that I need to find a way to fit more steps into my ST days. Any ideas?
