ST vs. steps

Wednesday, July 02, 2014

I am trying to incorporate strength training into my workouts. I don't really enjoy ST, or I haven't in the past, but I think this is partly because I'm not confident in doing it on my own. We joined a new gym, though that has lots of classes that do ST, so I am trying those out and enjoying it more so far. My problem is that I have a goal to walk 10k a day, and I find that on ST days, I really struggle to get that numer, and I often don't even come close. This tells me that I need to find a way to fit more steps into my ST days. Any ideas?

Today I'm grateful for:

libraries
bacon
swimming pool
flowers
baseball caps

I know that you wrote this several months ago, but I just saw it, and I've got to tell you, I am struggling with the same issue. I have been meaning to blog about this for awhile, but I am beginning to feel like my beloved Fitbit has been counterproductive. I am very good at doing a lot of steps because it is quick and dirty. But it is difficult to figure out how to strength train, let along to actually do it.

We can do this together, though!!!

I agree with Wortheymom- you might not get your 10K steps in, but you're doing great by building muscle!!

you might not be getting all of the steps (well atleast your fitbit etc isn't counting all of your reps) but you are building muscles and you can't beat that! even if you don't get all of your steps in that day, you are getting more than steps! Love strength training at my crossfit! Always try to find the positive! =)
