I hung out with a friend and her gf a few weeks ago and they had gone raw for 30 days and lost weight, and my friends diabetes is under control! That gave me some serious motivation. While I don't have an weight caused medical problems I definitely have weight problems as can be seen from my weight ticker haha. I have been a junk food vegan for a few years and three weeks ago a co-worker and I decided to go raw! We only committed to a week fearing we would end up hating the diet and end up focusing more on how many days we have and not enjoying today. We didn't even make it through week one when we both admitted to loving the food, how we felt and wanting to commit to going raw until the 4th of July. (about 4.5 weeks) I just finished week 3 and so far have lost 14 lbs without changing my activity levels just my food! They have free boot camp near my house and hope to start that next week. One of my favorite parts is that I do not feel like I am missing out instead I feel like I am really savoring and enjoying my food. Its more of a lifestyle than a diet. I have now decided to commit be 90%+ raw for the rest of the year which will allow me special occasion meals such as a veggie burger on the 4th, holidays, and so on.
