Day 5 of 5% Summer Challenge

I must admit I am dragging today. I am running on inspiration, motivation, desire, dedication and spark power. There isn't much in the tank! I think it is the humidity and all these gray, rainy days. I feel drained.

Anyhow, I did get on the treadmill this morning and walked. I also was able to get a half hour walk in at noon time. Tonight I have a board meeting to attend, but plan on walking afterwards. I will have about 60 minutes of working out to get in to get the maximum 120 points. Eeeks!!!

I also didn't pack a lunch today. I just didn't plan well, there was nothing home to pack AND I was too lazy to think about it much. I did have a 6 inch subway with just turkey and spinach on it. Luckily I had a stash of apples in the refrigerator at work so I did have some fruit.

Positive side - I am grateful I have a couple walking buddies at work. We encourage each other when one of us doesn't want to - and yes we do stoop to a little guilt and shame - in a kind and loving way (if there is such a thing). Besides the walk goes much quicker when there is someone to talk with. Not to mention one of the girls is a FAST walker and keeps us on a brisk pace. AND I must admit I do feel a bit more energetic after walking! Funny how that works.

I'm hoping to get home and get outside for a walk after my meeting and do some strength training. I really WANT to get the maximum exercise points in my challenge!!! I know I don't HAVE to, but I WANT to and this is something I have complete control over - soooooo given that there aren't many things in life I have complete control over, I think I should use that control and go for it!!!

Of course the lazy gremlins in my head are telling me to kick my shoes up and take a nap on the couch. We will see who wins!

    You're doing great, we're both taking the same approach, it seems.

    Because I was in danger of overdoing cardio, I tried ST exercises again to reach 120 minutes. My body has been thanking me all week for waking them up!

    You've done your best today, and that's all you can do. I think you are doing emoticon ! Even though you think you messed up at lunch, you opted for turkey and spinach - a very wise and healthful choice! You got half your exercise done early in the day emoticon !
    Look for the positives in what you do, and it will make you feel better and what you DO accomplish!

    You can do it. I always feel better after I get up and go for a walk or do a workout. If you are really tired when you get home lay down for a short rest then get up and go for walk and do workout. Be sure to set the alarm, don't want to sleep for 2-3 hrs. It would ruin the evening and your workout.
