healthy living vs crap!

Thursday, June 19, 2014

This is our house----in the bush!
I just read ONEKIDSMOM blog---from somewhere in the US--
I hear from RDEE in Australia----
It amazes me that everywhere there are Sparkly people trying to be healthier---

Last night on TV, I saw Dr Oz being raked over the coals for promoting shortcuts, on weight loss--
There are no shortcuts---
It takes willpower---mind over brownies----the ""will"" to get out there , in yer runners---
And after cutting grass --coming in hot and so thirsty-----forcing that arm to reach for ice cold water-----not pop----- -eating fresh vegetables---

We ARE so fortunate to belong to Spark University!

"Avoid anything advertised on television." GOOD ONE!

Did you ever seen any ads for carrots, or apples or bananas...er, wait a minute! But then Chicita Banana has not been seen for a long time. I guess it's safe to eat them.

Well shared! By the way, the drive yesterday... aaargh! Shall we say Brenda got a free wash? Several times? Playing tag with rainstorms at highway speeds? Not particularly fun... BUT we got here! Wisconsin is NOT that far from Canada, right? emoticon

You have hit the nail on the head. The only way to weight loss is through healthy eating and lots of sweat!!!! There are no shortcuts, and all those stupid commercials on TV tick me off!!! Take the Bow-flex.....they promise weight loss through exercise only...thing is you have to read the fine print, which is written so small at the bottom of your screen that no can read it....but it only works if you eat a calorie reduced diet.....I checked once!!! Then you have your bands, and pills etc. Get real people. There are no miracles. We did not get fat in one day, we will not get thin (for lack of a better word) in one day!!!!!
I Thank God for Spark People...and all the most wonderful amazing people here!!!!

I agree, you have to make good choices and exercise. Dr Oz is loved by many, but I quit watching him several years ago because he was pushing things like razberry ketones and green coffee bean. That stuff doesn't work and it's expensive, just a waste of money.
Jean, you always tell it like it is, that's why I love ya so! You are such a bright spot in my day, every day you blog.

Just wondering how long it will be before the censors take out that cr*p word???

Will power? For me it's won't power that's key (and above all avoiding temptations since I don't have any will power to speak of!!)
