1 year Gastric Bypass surgery anniversary

I had Gastric Bypass surgery on May 28, 2013, so I'm a little over a year post op and I'm down 103 pounds. This has been a life-changing thing in my life. After losing and gaining and dieting and all the medical problems I was having, I really had lost hope and for a couple of years I had no hope. I felt resigned to the fact that I'd be fat, ugly, unhealthy and miserable the rest of my life. I feel so blessed.
I have signed up through my hospital to be an "angel." An Angel is someone who has had the surgery and can be called by anyone going through the process that needs to talk to someone, pre-op or post-op. I also agreed to do testimonials at the information sessions or support group meetings. I am going to do the testimonial for the first time tomorrow at an info session. I'm excited and nervous. I bought a GORGEOUS new (used) dress for it....more of that story later. I have so much I want to tell them, I'm having a hard time getting it down to 10 minutes..lol I thought I had it cut down a lot and I practiced it and it was 18 minutes..lol I tried it about 7 more times and now it's down to about 12 minutes. Ugh! lol
So the dress story! I have very few clothes that fit now and I'm really cheap so I don't go shopping for new clothes and don't even like shopping at Goodwill because I'm so cheap! lol But I needed something amazing for the info session and I took my sister and went shopping. For dresses I'm in a size 12ish (depends on the dress, I was actually fitting into size 8-14 so it was hard to really shop right.) I tried on probably 25 dresses which was amazing, first of all, because I'm not used to finding clothes my size anyway, much less dresses. It was such a shock to be able to get on all those dresses and almost all fit and then it was just a matter of picking one I liked best. Before it was always, I ended up with whatever actually did fit me, not necessarily looked good. It's just so surprising to me. I'm kind of starting to like shopping...I told hubby that, he got a little worried..lol
So, no makeup and hair's a mess, but THIS is the dress I bought. I also got a haircut since then, so I'll probably post another blog after the info session about how it went and a good pic of the dress with hair and makeup all looking fabu-riffic.
