Drive-In Movies

Sunday, June 08, 2014

We are blessed to have a drive-in movie theatre just a few minutes up the road. Last night they were showing the unbeatable combination of "Maleficient" and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." I recommend them both.

We took our own food. My daughter made chicken salad with veggie pasta and lemonade with stevia, and brought fresh fruit. I brought the popcorn, chips and almonds (someone has to be a little naughty) - most of which none of us touched.

But I blew my budget anyway, and so did she. How? Mistake #1: we entered the concession stand. Mistake #2: after perusing all the naughties, both of us (independently) chose the soft pretzel as the least damaging offering.

WRONG!! Why didn't I look it up first??? One large soft pretzel, pass on the cheese, brush off most of the salt -- almost 500 calories. Almost 100 carbs. Holy mustard, Batman!!!

I'd have been much better off with a Hershey bar. Smack!

    Dragon,

emoticon I'm not laughing at you, but at myself, because I remember back in the day, I've done the same thing, if not worse! It's a good as gold, right now!!!

    Be blessed,
