Heading for Maryland

Yesterday was the last day of school. The two teachers and one teacher assistant and I had our combined twenty-five little K-3 graders out on the playground for a piñata party to celebrate their reading 3000 books this school year. I was asked to watch the children for a few minutes and the three adults disappeared. They came back a short time later with a huge cake, ice-cream and bags of presents, and set them up on the table. It was going to be so nice to have a party for the children! We were all called over to the table and the lid of the cake was removed to reveal "Thank-you Mrs Cheryl" in frosting with frosting roses on the top! I was STUNNED! I had never been given a party in 25 years working as a nurse! I was weeping, tears pouring down my face as twenty-five precious children with smiling faces, sticky with sweat from playing, all crowded around for kisses and hugs. This is the MOST rewarding thing I have ever done. Did I mention I have agreed to return again next year? YES!
