Worst. Week. Ever.

Monday, May 05, 2014

Last week was a week for the record books. I managed to eat well and even lost 6 pounds. I discovered Coconut Oil and it's benefits but that is a blog for another week.

Hubby lost his job on Tuesday. No notice, no thank you very much. Just bam. He applied for about 30 jobs last week and even had a appointment with a recruiter. He has a few good prospects but the fear of the unknown is mind blowing. I am doing a very good job of keeping a good outlook, so much so that it's scaring me. I know that he will find something but STILL. We were suppose to leave for Gulf Shores on Thursday.

I called the condo place and we are unable to cancel without losing ALL of our money. Of course when I booked the vacation months ago, the extra $200 for insurance seemed ridiculous since there was no way we would be cancelling. Ha. Joke is on me.

Hubby and the rest of the family have convinced me to go. We weren't planning on doing anything but the beach anyway. Hubby assures me we have the money to go and be fine until he finds something else. But the smart thinker, planner, etc warns me to STAY HOME! SAVE MONEY!!

Ugh.

So here we go ... off the the beach.

Prayers for a job resolution for hubby would be appreciated.

    WOW! Good news and bad!

I am so sorry to hear about his job. That terrifies me too. I totally get your thinking. My hubs would tell me the same thing,"We are going!"

    Hang in there with that.

Great job on the pounds gone!

Trust that everything will work out; so you are not living your days from a place of fear. (I know, easier said than done.)

Congrats on the 6 pound loss!

Go on that vacation... Bond with your hubby... It's already paid for, try to enjoy it.

    Big hugs to you!

I think Hubby was right about this. You need to try and keep some sense of normalcy, even during this difficult time. And perhaps he will be able to better focus on finding some job prospects after a week away!

Congratulations on your weight loss! Trust in God. Don't lose hope. Pray. And ask for help if you need it, even just for someone to listen or a shoulder to cry on if necessary.

No problem NG, my guy is a contractor and we go through this constantly. Let me know if you need support, one thing that has helped is having the slush fund nearby and try to keep the debt down.

You sound upbeat but with a little bit of worry thrown in... but overall, upbeat. That is good. You have confidence that he'll find something, so at least during your vacation... don't think twice about it. Have some BIG FUN on the beach!!
