Who never sugar could be a "poison?"

Thursday, April 24, 2014

Came from the Dr. today to get the latest kidney and liver labs. I told her I felt I was very careful in my eating but sweets were a downfall, even when I made sure not to go over my daily calorie allotment. She told me sugar was "almost a poison" to some people and that my liver was NOT handling sugars, carbs, fats, or processed foods. I have to be on the most stringent eating plan I've ever been on...absolutely no fats, no sugars including limiting fruit to two servings only a day, nothing processed, nothing white. I can have loads of vegetables but no potatoes, and "clean protein" which she ok'd my soy protein powder in the mornings for my breakfast. I had NO idea, and I was a nurse for 25 years! Today beloved and I bought a book from Costco, "Grain Brain" all about wheat, carbs, and sugar--your brain's silent killers. Eye opening!!!

Wow! It almost sounds like you need to go gluten free for awhile!

Good thing your doctor is on top of this stuff!

I have read the wheat books out there, and realize sugar is an addictive poison!!! but wow fats too. Did you have sx? or just went and they found out in blood work. I am curious as really want to eat better and I do other than like you sugar. I don't do much processed but do bake. sigh.

HUGS and good luck figuring your plan.
