DAY 4: Good start..blah finish

Monday, April 21, 2014

So today started off well. I weighed in just 2 ounces heavier than I did yesterday. Had my Quaker Oats oatmeal for breakfast a long with a vitamin and probiotic. I went out for lunch and originally planned for Chop't which is about a 15 minute walk from my office. Unfortunately, the line was super long - all the way out of the entrance of Chop't and wrapping around the front of the building. So I went to the neighboring Roti instead. Roti wasn't much better but the line was at least still contained within the building.

For those who aren't blessed with a Roti www.roti.com in your neck of the woods, it's a Mediterranean fast food place run much like Chipotle. What I love about it is, they have grilled chicken, salmon or falafel with mixed veggies, hummus, eggplant and couscous as sides. So you have plenty of chances to make healthy choices. I had the chicken roti rice plate. Their rice is brown rice, by the way.

I also stopped by Pret-A-Manger and picked up a Pot of Goodness which is Greek Yogurt mixed with oats, slices of apples, and brown sugar at the bottom to mix together. I usually leave as much brown sugar at the bottom as I can because I'm trying to avoid too much sugar in my diet. My weakness was a chocolate chip cookie that I grabbed just because I had given up chocolate for Lent and with Easter yesterday, I am now free to eat all the choco I desire. --All in moderation of course.

But I think dinner may set me back. My dad bought Thai home for dinner and I have no idea how many calories I ate of that. But with no ingredients to make a quick salad available, as I still haven't made it to the grocery store, I was left with no choice but to eat what was there. I may regret it in the morning.

I did manage to fit in a quick 30 minute workout before bed to try and negate any maximum weight gain. I did Leslie Sansone's Burn 30, 30-min Walk. I'm going to try to do her 30 minute plan everyday to build stamina and add some form of exercise into my week. Once I build some stamina, I'll start on my more intense exercise dvds like Jillian Michael's or the Sparkpeople Boot Camp.
