Too much Easter!
Monday, April 21, 2014
I have had too much Easter for two reasons. First, because of my work in the church office, I started weeks ago getting together baptismal records for all the young people being confirmed, all the First Communicants, all the people being received from the RCIA. I scheduled extra lectors for Passion Sunday through Good Friday. I went to choir practice to play for the choir, and I met with individual cantors to help them learn their responsorial chants and Gospel Acclamation chants. That was VERY stressful! Then I played for Holy Thursday, Stations of the Cross & Passion service on Good Friday, and two Masses on Easter Sunday. In the meantime, cleaning my house and cooking my dinner. My youngest son, not married, came to eat with me and...I freely confess that I ate way more than I should have eaten. I did not like the scales this morning, but am weighing again tomorrow morning because some of that has got to be too much salt, fat, and water. BUT....I sent the leftovers home with my son to share with his friends who are divorced or widowers so that they would have a good dinner. Today I am back on track. I enjoyed a bowl of Special K with skim milk and a banana for breakfast. And I have cooked a pot of vegetarian vegetable soup to eat with a turkey sandwich for lunch. It has always been the hardest thing for me to "get back on the wagon" when I fall off, so I'm practicing TODAY! I sincerely hope you all did better than I did yesterday!
