2014 first quarter update :)

Well, so far so good. My daughter and I jump started our weight loss on Jan 18, 2014 with a 21 day Daniel Fast. I'm proud to say that we both stuck to it pretty darn well. Since Jan 18 I have lost 13-14 pounds. It sounds like a lot to me, but much of it was weight I had gained back during the past year. I have changed my diet quite a bit since last year. I ate no meat for the 21 days of the fast, and really didn't miss it that much. We ate a lot of vegetables, salads and fruits. I have added a little meat to my diet, but not every day. I still am trying to eat mostly salads and fresh foods. I do not always succeed in eating the right things, but it is still a journey. My daughter and I have also added zumba classes back into our schedule and try to go as often as we can. I need to go for neighborhood walks more often. Now that the weather is getting nicer, I hope I will be motivated to do so. I just don't want to get back into those very bad eating habits and I know how easy it is to go back to my old ways. One day at a time and I hope I can get rid of more of this baggage.
