I have had a delay in starting to work out at the gym (a financial delay, as I broke my glasses and had to have new ones). I feel a little guilty reading everyone's posts about their exercise programs and then...I realized that any kind of movement which challenges your body can be exercise...this includes household and outside chores. Now I feel better, because for years, I have been following this routine: get up at 5:30 am, feed the cats, make coffee, and eat a light breakfast. Say my morning prayers & have "quiet time" over a second cup of coffee. Then, I go into high gear and do housework (or in the summer outside work) until 8 am. At 8 I eat a snack, rest for a couple of minutes, shower & dress, and go to work. After work, I do my errands and come home...and still have to have dinner, clean up the kitchen, and do whatever I had planned that I didn't get to that morning. This is not to say that I shouldn't start a gym membership. I'm just saying that all the things which I am already doing burn calories and there are even charts online which tell you how many calories different activities burn! I now have one hanging on my refrigerator!!!! Whew!
