I figured I was overdo for a blog, so here it goes!
My DH & I had an amazing time in St. Lucia back in January! If you're ever trying to decided on an island to visit, go to St. Lucia and stay at Sandals Halcyon Beach! It was amazing! The food was delicious, the people were awesome, and there was so much to do! We got back home after midnight Saturday morning and then went and picked up our puppy at 9am. She is awesome! She's a chocolate lab named Presley and boy is she a ball of energy! I'll be glad when we're past the bitey phase though! My new job is great, I love it! It keeps me busy, but I like that :) Next month is going to be a crazy travel month, 4 days in the Chicago area, possibly a few days in Tampa, and then a week in Germany (I'm really looking forward to that trip!), but it should be interesting.
Last Friday DH & I started our very first garden! We are starting tomatoes, tomatillos, jalapenos, serranos, sweet peppers, parsley, oregano, basil, chives, and cilantro in the house. We also have corn, cucumbers, green onions, and strawberries all ready to plant and still need to get rhubarb, raspberries, and grapes. I may have gone a little overboard, lol. This morning I noticed my first little seedlings! My oregano has sprouted! I'm so excited!!! I can't wait until we can get everything planted outside :)
I'm participating in the Biggest Loser Spring Challenge here on SP, and so far, so good! Today was the end of week 1, and I'm down 2 pounds! My team is great, super active & supportive! They're awesome! They've been helping keep me active on Spark, which always makes me do better :)
On a more serious note, my dad had a heart attack this past weekend. He's doing fine now and is back home, but that was the scariest phone call I've ever received. My mom called my Sunday night to tell me she was at the ER with him and what had happened. DH & I put Presley in her crate and headed to the hospital. They did angioplasty Sunday night to open up the artery that was 100% blocked, and he has an appointment with the surgeon in a few weeks to discuss bypass surgery. This has been so scary, but one positive outcome has been the affect this has had on me and what I eat. I really need to start eating more fruits & veggies and less cookies & sweets. Hopefully the garden will help with that.
