Intruder kicked in my door and got this mama bear ALL fired up!

Wednesday, March 12, 2014

Last night was my first full night of sleep without needing to be in my man's safe arms...Last Monday night some guy ( high as a kite &/or bat s#!t crazy) kicked in our front door and ran on it! The kiddos and I were home. I was a loud, scary, and crazy mean and he decided to leave. On his way out of my house I slammed the front door on him as hard as I could repeatedly. Hopefully I busted a few fingers that last slam! emoticon I am so embarrassed to say that I was woefully unprepared. Very scary for us and my mind has been swirling since then. All the "what ifs" & thoughts of where to go from here. I have been a mess to say the least. They kiddos seem to be fine just more aware of thier surroundings. No one but the intruder was injured.

My husband is a trucker and is home most weekends. This is tearing him up inside. emoticon He feels as though he is our protector and he should have been here. I remind him that is all happened soooo fast and even if he were at a local job it would have been too far away. A friend of the family came and helped me fix the door to close it that night.

He was arrested and is currently still in jail. I have put a few safety measures into place and brushed up on my firearm how to. He pissed off this mama bear and I am all on the defensive! lol But last night I DID finally get a full night of sleep. I feel triumphant! I feel more prepared. In some odd way it reminded me that I can not properly protect my kiddos at my weight. I was much to slow. What a wake up call for my sorry excuse makin' @$$.

So I am back on the train! gonna start with that 38# I had lost before hubby starting trucking and I got all depressed. emoticon

Oh my, what a scary story. Glad it ended well. Drugs do so much more damage than people realize.

Wow, what a horrifying incident. I hope your hubby doesn't keep beating himself up over this. Like you said, even if he was local everything just happens so fast. So many things that we need to be prepared for.

I know many have guns for protection but please be safe. My husband almost got shot by the neighbor who's gun went off on accident (bullet going from their floor to our ceiling)!

You are definitely a good mamma bear!!

I'm so glad you are all ok and that he's in jail! So scary!

How about some type of alarm system?

Having a gun is definitely a safety measure but like you said there are other emergency situations that can come up that having excess weight can hinder our actions.

Wow!! Wonder Mother is coming on strong! Glad none of you were hurt. Had to be very scary. I have a .38 by my bedside but I'm not that comfortable using it. I will make a point of changing that myself. I am VERY rural so if someone came in our place, they would not get a chance to explain, I'm afraid. emoticon emoticon emoticon
