Oh, I love this! We all know what she's talking about--where did that 1200 calories come from?
Talk about empowerment--wow! When are women going to stop measuring themselves against Hollywood's anorexic mindset? I love Sophia's comment about Special K. Don't you think a Special K bar is akin to eating a snickers?
SP tells us not to go below 1200 cals! I count most of my cals. But I notice when I clock up cals from e.g. fruit, my weight doesn't seem to go up. I enjoy feeling the fat decrease and the muscle, yes, MUSCLE!, increase. Having reached my goal weight, actually 2 kilos below my original goal, because I kept shedding weight, and decided to stop where it felt comfortable, I now have other goals, e,g reduce the spare tyre, so I can wear the summer shorts that were too tight last summer, DONE!: exercise more, for the moment at least 30 mins, burning at least 150 cals, DONE!: walk and jog faster, aiming for 4 mph walking, 5 mph jogging, progressing slowly but still progressing. When I tried to eat intuitively without counting cals, my weight started going up. Now I eat intuitively, but also keep track of the cals. I ump on the scales every day, but only weigh myself exactly, no clothes, and record it once a week. 2666 days ago
1200 calories from what source? Burritos? Mc Donalds? What percentage is fat from animals? What part of what you are eating is chemically derived? How about nutrients?
Calorie based thinking is focusing on just one little bit of the entire picture of natural weight management - which we are looking for.
For me I am a raw organic vegan. My caloric intake starts at 2000 and can go up to 3100 if I'm working and training. BUT that is all from raw nutritionally dense food that the body either utilizes or disposes of. What is unused is NOT stored. Totally different Universe. 2666 days ago
