HM training notes - Wednesday 4-miler
Wednesday, February 26, 2014
Saturday's wonderful run was followed up by kettlebells on Sunday and rest on Monday. Yesterday was supposed to be a 3-mile run, but life happens... I had full intentions to run yesterday, but was asked to sub for my favorite class of kids (the 6th graders) and decided to spend the day making a few easy bucks and skipping the run (of which, I made sure to let all of the kids know that I chose to spend the day with them over a relaxing day to myself).
So today, I ran :) Since rain and snow are predicted for the next several days, I decided to take advantage of the dry trails and run my "Water Tank Climb" route. Besides, it gave me an excuse to wear my favorite trail running shoes which I only wear when I'm "off-road".
Total distance: 4.34 miles in 44:54 with a 10:21 pace. Not a big climb today - just 385 feet (most of the climb was the water tank climb).
The run felt great except for a weird pain in my right shoulder... Since Sunday, I've had an intermittent sharp pain that seems to be more nerve than muscle related. Other than being a nuisance and making it hard to get comfortable at night to sleep, I've been fine (I'm even unbothered by it when swinging the kettlebell, doing pushups and pull-ups). But when I ran today, it hurt - weird... so much so, that I had to hold me phone in my left hand. Even weirder, on the last bit of my run, my right hand was feeling tingly. Oh well, the joys of getting older :)
