Weekend Resources

On the weekend it is not the same as the week when I really can keep the diet under control and I exercise - on the weekend I really need to draw on all my resources to get motivated to move and eat well. I often find that when I am alone and it is all up to me alone as to what I do can tax me a lot. Come Monday and I have done well and exercised consistently I feel fab. But getting there is the problem emoticon

    Get everything out of the house that will be bad for you. Journal, eat mini meals, and stick vegetables in everything to fill up. Have go to foods if you bing. Always carry a healthy snack, so you don't lose it. eva

    I understand about weekends, what I think is, maybe we should make new plans for each weekend, sort of a two-day plan or a two day streak, you know what I mean? For example' "For two days, I will not eat this or that, I will do ____ minutes of this exercise, I will drink ___ ounces of water" Just do something like this, and leave the rest, and hang on until Monday LOL! Good Luck!

    It puts a point of finality to the weekend that didn't exist otherwise.

    I found it helps to plan really active weekends with DH or with friends - go for a hike, walk to a new place, go swimming, skiing, whatever.

    Weekends can be such a challenge. However, remember how far you've come and use that as motivation to stay the course.

    You've got that right. In my previous job where I got off mid-afternoon, eating when I got home was a problem and weekends were fine. In new job, I get home later, weekdays are great, and the weekend is a big challenge, sometimes carrying over into Monday or even Tues. I want this weekend to be different.

    If husband and I go out, I'll compensate elsewhere.
    I'm aiming for 60 or more fitness min today.
    I slept better this week, woke up early feeling good, so I don't feel like I'm starting the weekend with a huge sleep deficit to make up.

    What are your plans for a better weekend? I'd really like to know.
