Biggest Loser Challenge #21: Goals

Monday, February 17, 2014

I am glad to be doing another BLC. While the last one I participated in dissolved before it ended, I still found it motivating to have a non-scale challenge every week combined with team support. During BLC 21, I have several small goals I would like to meet before April 27th!

1. Weight-loss: My first goal is to get to one-derland. As I am only 5-6 pounds away, I think this is doable! My second mini-weight loss goal is to reach 193, which will mean I have lost 50 pounds since the beginning of August. My overall weightloss goal for the challenge is 15-20 pounds, putting me at 186-191 pounds by the end of the challenge.
2. Fitness: As for non-scale goals, I want to be able to do a TRX handstand by the end of these goals in my Supershape classes. I'd also like to be able to successfully complete some of the other body-weight exercises done in the TRX straps like "spidermans," "atomic pushups," and "pendulums." Although I'm not running regularly now, I think I would like to also work towards being able to run for 2 miles without stopping. I'm at 1 mile right now at about a 12 minute pace, so with a little more targeted efforts, I believe I can get there.
3. Nutrition: My struggle with nutrition is that I feel the need to "indulge." While I truly do believe "indulging" a few times a week can help with weightloss, I tend to overdo it. I want to find a happy balance between my "indulgences" and my normal eating patterns. Things that have worked in the past is allowing myself a few Hershey's Kisses each day, but lately I've just been craving junk food and not nourishing my body with the nutrients it wants. My nutrition goal for this challenge is to allow myself my "indulgences" as long as they do not push me over a 2000 calorie limit on any one day.

I'm pumped for this challenge. Writing out my goals has me very excited about where I could be in just 10 weeks! I am looking forward to getting to know you all and helping encourage you to meeting your goals as well!
