Scary News! Time to Take Action!

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

So I went to the doctor yesterday for my annual physical. I had done my bloodwork earlier and it was time to get my results. Everything was fine, except that my bad cholesterol had gone way, way up since last year. Like 45 points up. My good cholesterol was low, too. None of that was good to hear.

I also got "The Talk". I need to lose weight, my BMI is up to 41.1. Now that I'm older, my body can no longer metabolozie fats as well, so I need to cut back on them. Gahh!

The good news is that I can do something about all this without drugs or surgery. I just need more willpower and support to keep focused on making healthy changes and sticking with them.

I do have a lot of great reasons to stick around!

Cholesterol as I'm sure you know is nothing to mess with. Your HDL can be raised by exercise which will help your LDL. Fish oil capsules will also help with that. I started on them years ago, not because of cholesterol but because of dry eyes. As we get older cholesterol tends to rise probably for lack of exercise. Mine is fine and I credit the fish oil.
