So yesterday I was kind of in a funk. I was tired. I started my day caving in to the office treats outside my door. I didn't want to workout. It was snowing out. It was cold out. I wanted to stay home and watch the olympics or some Michigan State basketball. I gave myself a pep talk. I dragged myself to the gym. I put on my shoes and my ipod and cranked up the tunes.
When in a funk - play that funky music white boy!
Got my but on the track. The runners were whizzing by me, but I plugged away and got my two miles in. The sat on a bike and started pedalling while watching the olympics and listening to my tunes. 30 minutes flew by, but I must admit my legs were a little rubber band like when I got off the bike! OK, so let's go row and give the legs a break. 15 minutes rowing. Hmmmm, maybe a little elliptical? After all, we are already here, might as well make the best of it and get some work done. Yep, 20 minutes on that contraption while watching the snowboarding. Then off to do some upper body work on the weight machines.
Yep that was me wearing my sweat soaked shirt (funny how it never gets sweat soaked where my sports bra is)!
Oh, and the young guy on the spin bike next to me who was kicking my but said he like my tenacity! Ha! Funny how those little things make you smile in the gym!
So the funk melted away and I am in a better space today. I got up and saw the plow filled by driveway with a food of frozen ice and snow chunks from the road. I grabbed my shovel, started chopping, shoveling and carrying it away.
Ain't nothin gonna break my stride, Nobody's gonna slow me down, oh no - I got to keep on movin....
Are you singin? Come on, shake the winter funk!
