Two primal celebratory meals

Within this past week I enjoyed two celebratory meals - my 25th anniversary
) dinner, and lunch with my student who just completed his PhD. Both were delicious and healthy. It helps that gluten-free options are becoming a standard part of some restaurants here. Since I live in small-town/rural E. Washington, if it's happening here I assume this is indeed becoming a common option around the country.
Anniversary: here is the link to the menu:
We shared the Peruvian spring rolls and the Cobb salad for appetizers. My wife had a "Sangria burger" wrapped in lettuce, and with sauteed kale on the side instead of french fries. I had the GF version of the gorgonzola pasta with chicken, accompanied by an "Omission" GF beer out of Portland omissionbeer.com/
I haven't had that rich a dish in quite a time ... very full by the end! Plus, that afternoon we'd had a coffee and chocolate cheesecake (coconut flakes/oil crust, cream cheese, Xylitol, very dark chocolate).
Safe to say that 25 years ago I had no idea how I'd be eating now ... not very low-carb, but it was delicious and still this side of healthy, I think.
Celebration lunch: this was simpler: burgers and beers for two guys. I had mine wrapped in lettuce, topped with extra cheese, bacon, egg, and slaw. Had a side salad instead of fries. Gluten-free beer (2!) - Lakefront Brewery "New Grist" = HIGHLY recommended - here is the link to their site: www.lakefrontbrewery.com
Just wanted to share the good times. I'll be interested to hear if others are finding it easier to eat out as well.
