Feel like I need a pinch...

Am I in a dream or am I really losing this weight?! I've never had success like I'm having now. It's mind boggling. Yesterday when I got on the scale I was 247, but I wont change my weight til it's been the same 2 days in a row. Usually it fluctuates so much and when I lose a pound or two the next day it's up. So I try to base my weight off a mid week weigh in. Needless to say, I was afraid to get on the scale today, but when I did, it read 247 again which meant 3 more pounds gone for good :) I'm so happy.

Ken is right - it's easy to get overwhelmed by large numbers when there's a lot of weight to lose...and believe me, I've still got a LOT to lose. But, when you enjoy the small victories, it makes it that much easier.

    Good for you!! When we achieve the small goals; losing 5 lbs, losing 10 lbs, etc. if boosts our confidence which allows us to keep going. After a while you can look back at all of the small losses and see that you've lost 40lbs, 50lbs or more! Concentrate on what you can do this week, not on what you hope you can do this year. You take care of the weeks and the year will take care of itself :)

    I like to always look at new numbers which are roughly 10 pounds down....next stop for me 320's. emoticon emoticon emoticon

    If scale readings give you anxiety you can try something SIMPLEMAW does: weigh daily, add 7 days' together, divide by 7, and use THAT as your current weight. That's actually more accurate than using any individual number!

    As a former scale addict: I find it easier on the mind to only weight once a week (no sneak peeks in between, 'cause as you say, weight fluctuates easily, by several pounds sometimes).
