Tess makes me so sad!

Friday, December 27, 2013

This is a picture taken by son#2, the Pilot with Air Canada. on his way home from Pearson Airport. There are still almost 4000 people without power around Toronto.
This is 5 days after the ice storm.-I can't imagine living that long without warmth--lights- Sometimes we are blessed, just by living in the right area, or country----

So-----Christmas is over---I have to say , that this year I didn't over indulge as much as other years--I didn't lose weight, but--the ol' weight is the same----maintenance!
It shows one that even though you might not realize it, Spark does have an affect on one!---maybe osmosis?--LOL-----

I am trying to manage the resident German's Blasto once again--
A week ago, himself talked me into changing her meds to a different anti fungal medication-one she was once on, but it caused her liver enzymes to go kinda whacky---so she wouldn't eat---Why did I ever listen to himself?
---So-------I stopped this new medication-----will resume the old antifungal med., in a day or 2--give her liver a rest---I hope this will help her--so much ""by guess and by golly"" with Blastomycosis!
I really am tired of this disease----It began Aug.14th----and we are still fighting it---I want to cry---Maybe it's time for more x-rays to see how much fungus remains in her lungs.

So-----ever onward here Sparkly People!-I hope your weight is ""holding""--

It's more like over 25,000 are still without power here in Toronto alone. I wish it was only 2500. Today is day 7 since many of our neighbours have been without power and heat - thank goodness temps are on the rise a bit, but unfortunately many have suffered damage to pipes that have burst from the freezing cold and that's only compounded their problems.

Late yesterday finally hydro workers came by and moved the downed live wires that were in front of our driveway and secured the lines - they're still in front of our house, but more safely secured now - my concern was always for any passersby and kids. Work hasn't started in our area yet to get the power back on for those who are without and sadly two more homes went dark on our street when workers shut the power off because connections were deemed unsafe.

Poor, poor Tess! My heart goes out to you and her hoping this nasty disease will finally be beat!!!

I know that you are disheartened but you will have to go with your gut on what is best for Tess......himself is not the person to listen to right now.....the vet is whom you should ask. This blasto is nasty business most definitely. Does your vet believe in holistic medicine? Worth a shot.

Well, dear friend, I would say that your "holding pattern" is a GREAT success for this time of year! My own weight story isn't quite so positive...but I'm working on it!

I'm so sorry to hear about Tess, and how her struggle (and yours) with this disease continues. I hope 2014 brings healing for her and relief for both of you.

    Aw... sorry about Tess.

I live in Massachusetts and we got hit with an ice storm back in 2008 in December. We got some money from my in-laws and moved into a hotel because our house had no heat and we had a 2 year old with an illness that required electricity twice/day (she used a nebulizer). We lost a lot of food in our freezers that week. It was right before Christmas too so the cost was just hard all around and the logistics too. I certainly feel for those in Canada now. :-(

I'm so glad we put in a generator a couple of years ago. Fortunately , we haven't had to use it, but when the day comes, I will be opening our home up to others and sharing the warmth!

Breaks my heart that your pup is suffering. We had to put our beloved collie, Spencer, to rest the Monday after Thanksgiving. The bone cancer in his leg had caused a hairline fracture in his leg, and he was in a lot of pain. I miss him so much every day; hard to come home and not hear that joyful bark and see him running to his Mom.

Hopefully the New Year will bring us all many blessings!
