5.0 in 2014

Yesterday I got the results back from a blood test I had done. My hemoglobin A1C (blood sugar) level was 5.7, up from 5.6 a year ago, and putting me officially in the "pre-diabetic" range. I'm obviously not pleased by this. On the other hand, the other results were excellent:
- C-reactive protein 0.33
- Vitamin D 44.7
- Insulin 5.0
- TSH 1.410
- Cholesterol (total) 202 (LDL/HDL ratio = 1.2; LDL = 102, VLDL = 12; Triglycerides = 59, HDL = 88)
So my goal is to reduce my A1C level to 5.0 by December 2014. I've already been on
a gluten-free and primal/paleo diet for between 1-2 years, and will continue with that. The main thing I will change, I think, is to go low carb.
