Rehabbing my knee

A couple weeks ago when the Old Guy (OG) came back from vacation I went back to Zumba determined to not miss so many classes. Well, it seems they changed the schedule and after my Monday night zumba class we usually have Zumba toning for 45 minutues. Whenever I tell people that I do back to back classes for almost 2 hrs they react like I'm running a marathon or something! I used to think that was impossible too so I understand the reaction but zumba toning is slower paced and you use weights. My first time, I couldn't even make it through three songs without sitting on the floor and i had already been doing Zumba for almost a year, I think. I got to the point that the toning class wasn't even challenging me enough so I'd go off and do weight training on my own instead.
However, now they offer Nightclub Cardio right after Zumba so it's two high impact classes- one with a teacher that is new and routines that are new to me. Well, I guess I was trying too hard to keep up with everyone who already had the benefit of a couple classes with her. The next day my right knee was hurting... but it was so much fun!!! I hated that I had to ice it and rest it because of that one session. Now I'm even more out of shape and behind in my training which I really need for this ski trip. I have never skied at all, btw and am somewhat terrified.
Well, it dawned on my this weekend that when I started personal training last year, which I was only able to afford for about four months (worth it though!) I had the same type of injury and with the strength training, it totally disappeared! So I made a point to go to the gym on Sunday night and try it and guess what?? My knee is a ton better. I made sure to ice it for a while afterwards.

I thought I wasn't going to be able to ski, yadda yadda, waste of money, etc etc... So happy to be on the mend! So if you have a small nagging injury it's worth a try, I guess.
