Living in the Moment

I have the SparkCoach program, and I was challenged today to blog about something I need to change in my attitude.
Coincidentally, one of my husband's and my best friends is quite sick and in the hospital today - this is a guy who is always so cheerful and upbeat, and who always takes wonderful care of himself, physically and mentally. And Bam, he is in the hospital.
So I guess the part of my attitude I would like to work on is my attitude toward living in the moment. I so often live either in the future ("What if ...?") or the past (also "What if ...?"). I read somewhere that this habit of mind actually arises from an attempt to control what cannot be controlled - the unpredictable nature of life, and the fear that creates.
But the present is all any of us really have, and not accepting that and savoring What Is probably means I've missed out on experiencing a lot of my own life.
