288 or 307. The battle of the scales continue!

WW weigh-in today and the scale read 307.5 while this morning's home scale weigh-in gave me 288 (just 20 pounds out from my Spark People low of 2010).

I'm happy that one simple change - no ordering take-out - has helped the scale start going down again. Prepping food at night is a pain, and my honey isn't a left-overs type, but making the simple rule of no takeout has meant that one of us is more likely to cook and he's more likely to eat the same thing two nights in a row.

I'm doing the double weigh-in because it's helpful to see where I am compared to last time I was Sparking. I guess that once I hit 268 on the WW scale, I'll stop doing the mental comparison. Funny, 268 pounds seems light to me! By my home scale, I've dropped 60 pounds this year. I tried lifting a 50 pound bag of rice at the grocery store and realized that 60 pounds is a lot of weight that my poor joints don't have to deal with any more. Yay!

Even though this is slower than I'd like (about 5 to 6 pounds a month), it is all going in the right direction - a healthy one.

    The bathroom scale -standard type scale
    The Wii-fit scale
    The scale at work in the Occ Health Office

    Now I just use the Wii fit because I think it's the most accurate and I can weigh consistently at the same time of day wearing the same clothes.

    Darn right it's going the right way

    The scale has stopped moving for me too or ridiculously slowed and it is annoying but as long as it is in the right direction I won't complain too much

    5 pounds a month is an EXCELLENT pace. Just stay on track and you'll get where you want to be sooner than you think!

    That's a heck of a lot of weight you've lost... congratulations!!!
    As for weight loss, my advice is to "stick mentally" to one scale and count the losses... knowing me, I'd definitely pick the scale that gives the lighter weight (even though the WW scale is supposed to be the most accurate). A loss is a loss, no matter where you started!

    I am slow to lose too but like you said, when you lift that heavy bag and realize you've lost that much and more, it is very amazing. I have to remember that when I get discouraged to pick up 35 lbs of flour/sugar or the like and realize I am doing my joints a good turn, indeed.
