Encouragement needed...please =)

It has been about a year since I posted a blog on Spark. I've been on and off since that time.
If you have time in your busy day, would you please take a moment to say:
1. What is working for you?
2. How do you feel about yourself - really feel?
3. Are you worth it?
4. What have you sacrificed?
5. What have you gained?
For me, I struggle with doing things for me. I'm right at the tipping point of being ready for change. I hate who I have been and I'm working on being someone I can tolerate. I figured if I asked for suggestions/tips/just plain encouragement, you would not let me down!
I do not have a big support system. It is really bipolar - if you will.
I have a husband who is critical and disparaging. He is very fit, eats whatever he wants, and does what he wants. Also-wants me to do it all w/o helping me.
The other side of the coin are people who tell me I look just fine - don't worry about it!! Not a whole lot of workout buddies available.
I am looking to silence the voice of criticism and banish the status quo voice so that I can really lose the 45 pounds that I need to in order to be healthy.
I KNOW that being healthy will not make my husband any more palatable, and I need to really clean up the messes that I've made in my life.

    Dear Linda.
    1. I really like the paleo/primal way of eating. Earlier this year I tried the JJ Virgin diet to see whether I was sensitive to certain foods. I reacted badly to a reintroduction of gluten and dairy. When I eat right, I feel great. Unfortunately I love freshly baked bread, so I try to stay away from bakeries. I have discovered that I am addicted to sweet things. This is the biggest challenge for me.
    2. Most of the time I feel okay about myself. When I have to go clothes shopping, I am not happy.
    3. This is a tough one. Probably 60% of the time, yes; 40%, no. But, most of the time I don't even give it a thought.
    4. Sacrifices? Hmm. Very few. Inconsequential things.
    5. I am gradually gaining better health, more stamina, and helping to push question #3 to increased feelings of self worth and self confidence.

    If you want to talk, let's talk. If you want suggestions about diet or exercise, just give some parameters of what you'd like to do.
    Quit listening to anyone who tries to bring you down - even yourself!

    The tipping point for me was on August 9 at my doctor's check up. She said, "Lose 20 lbs in 3 months or I'm putting you on high blood pressure medicine. I had resisted her in the past, but this was a challenge. I said, I'll do it! I'll see her next Tuesday.
    So what have I learned you ask????
