Seasonal Challenge Processed Food

On Wednesday we had to run errands for the business, I was craving Wendy's but I decided to stop to this middle eastern restaurant instead. I also decided to look for better options on the menu...no fried etc. I chose the chicken wrap with veggies, hummus and bread side and also the Mediterranean salad for a side. I shared the hummus with my business partner and ate half of the wrap. The salad was phenomenal, I have never had this salad....it was green and red peppers, cucumbers, parsley and an olive oil dressing. The dressing was just an added flavor it did not overpower the salad as some of those dressings do and it allowed the flavor and the textures of the salad to shine. That will be something that I try and make myself and add to my menu here at the Inn.

I think for my body to notice any changes in the amount of processed food that I eat, I would have to give it up for a week or two. I believe that will be something I try in the next week.

    Maybe just start by cutting down....and then eventually cutting out the super bad stuff....which I love! We both know you will feel better- it is just making it from HERE to THERE that is the hard part! I know you can do it- you are so discilplined. Bad time of year for all of us with all the warm, yummy comfort foods.....but it will be worth it when we are old really old and crazy and healthy together! Love you!!!

    I would love to give up processed food. I've always wanted to be one of the perimeter shoppers! ha Maybe I will try to convince Dylan to try it for one week.

    Its so hard to give up processed foods!! But it surely makes a difference!

    Good for you! I too struggle with the processed foods, as I am a very poor cook. But I am trying right now to get sugar out of my house and body.

    Although there are those times when processed foods is the only option, we all know staying away from them are the healthier choice. Good luck on your personal challenge....IT IS DOABLE. That salad you mentioned sounds yummy. Something I would like to try. Have a great weekend and let's keep making healthy choices together.
