Just some random health stuff floating around in my head today and I thought I would blog it out.
Yesterday was a new workout day. I've been getting a new workout DVD from Netflix every week. Or I do a new workout from Exercise OnDemand. Yesterday I was trying a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Dance cardio DVD. I love watching the DCC Making the Team. Cheerleader dance totally takes me back to high school. And it usually goes with the exact kind of terrible pop music I adore. All in all, it's right up my alley. However, this workout was not. I did burn a lot of calories. But most of them were burned from my mocking. At one point I even said, out loud, "This is the exact kind of DVD Lorelai and Rory Gilmore would rent, not to do, but to mock." And mock, I did. But I also completed the 35 minute workout and got in 3000 steps according to my FitBit. The DVD went right into the mailbox as soon as I was done. Sometimes if the workout is really good I will keep it for another week, but I'm Miss Movin On with this workout (See what I mean about bad pop music? Shout out to Fifth Harmony!) next up in the DVD queue is a Tae Bo workout. Those always make me feel badass.
Today was a different story as far as workouts. I'm supposed to walk to the treadmill this morning. But as soon as I woke up I knew it wasn't happening. My allergies were crazy yesterday and I woke up with similar problems. My whole face feels clogged, if that makes sense. But we are having leftovers for dinner tonight so I don't have to cook. And I'm hoping that I will have more energy to walk tonight. This morning I'm just laying in bed with my coffee (I might even get a second cup! Gasp!) and chilling. Right now it's just what I need. And I'm praying that what I think are allergies doesn't morph into this terrible bug/cold that is going around. Mental note: extra Vitamin C today.
Part of the problem is I no longer have a show I'm dying to watch while in the treadmill. I was watching Pretty Little Liars but I got so into it that I was talking about it all the time and mom wanted to watch it too. So we bought the seasons on DVD and watched 345736275832165 episodes over my long weekend. Yeah. So I'm looking for new netflix shows to hold my interest while tread milling it up, they need to be hour long dramas or something with a cliffhanger that will make me want to keep coming back. I've found that that formula works for me so I'm sticking with it.
This was rambly and all over the place so snaps for you if you read the whole thing. Have a good day and if you have any treadmill suggestions, leave a comment! I would love to hear what works for you on the treadmill. Or if you have any DVD recommendations that I should try in my netflix queue, leave those as well. Have a good one!
