Lose Your Guilt and Shame, and Gain Your Life
Monday, October 21, 2013
For a fair amount of my life, I spent my time feeling guilty (spending so much family money on clothes because of requiring extra-large sizes) or shamed (for being overweight). I became so accustomed to those feelings that they became "normal" for me--not a good thing. I found myself wallowing in my negative emotions, with no motivation to remedy my situation, especially since those around me gave me positive reinforcement for my woes ("poor Lynne").
The one who led me out of this negativity was the youth pastor at my church. He called me on my sh*t and helped me discover ways to move forward past my addiction to my heavy emotions. It took me several months to "kick the habit" of guilt and shame, but my pastor's support made it possible.
Today while surfing the 'Net, I ran across an article which presents some ideas for dealing with guilt and shame:

I wish the best to all of my fellow Sparkers. You have made a positive difference in my life.
