...I will start with being negative - my weight loss is not progressing as it should. Immedeately my innner voice starts telling me that I am probably cheating and not tracking as I should...until I start to study my numbers more closely. I am nerding a lot about this and track my food and my exercise in detail - and as I get a rewarding difference every day I should be losing. But it seems that most of that difference comes from exercising, if I take away the calories I get from exercising it´s not that much of a difference and it does explain that the weightloss seems slow this week.

But - non-scale-victories was the subject: When I started exercisin after midsummer I could not swim long or fast without getting severe cramps in my legs. I could do 30 minutes if I did not press myself.

When the cramps come I have to slow down and "walk" in the water for a while.

Yesterday I swam for 60 minutes and the cramps started to announce themselves at 55 - but I could handle it and could finish without changing swimstyle.

I still can´t swim faster but I don´t care. It will come if I keep on working.

Walking - I have walked the whole track – 2,5 km - in a row without getting severe pains in my feet afterwards. As I have about 800 meters before I get to the track it is 3,7 km alltogether, great progress! Any year now I will start to run....

These are "functional" victories; a high priority in my book! emoticon
Calories burned= weight X distance moved. Speed doesn't matter. Unfortunatey, as we lose we have to move more to burn the same calories. We're in constant flux! I think you are doing great! Stay the course.

Oh, that is great progress! Congrats!
Swimming faster will come later. This shows that your body is now used to the exercise and can do more ! Wonderful!

That is so interesting about the exercise and weight loss correlation! I need to hear that... I've been dragging my feet on exercise. I am so impressed that you swim for an hour! Forget the speed, the endurance is AWESOME!
