DO NOT let set-backs stop you!

So I have been doing really well this week with running and eating right and really giving forth the effort to lose weight! But today, I sprained my ankle. It absolutely and completely sucks. I thank God that it is not a serious sprain that has me in a walking cast or anything, but it is a sprain that will prevent me from pitching and running for a little while. However, I will not let it stop me! I know that I have to let it rest and heal, but that does not mean that I cannot exercise! I am going to use this time to really focus on eating right and experience other types of exercise besides running. The elliptical and the bike are about to become my best friends!

I want all who read this to know that everyone is going to experience set-backs and obstacles along their weight loss journey. It is not always going to be easy. But this is just you being tested: will you give up or will you push through to continue on your road to your goals?! God will not put anyone through something they cannot handle, KNOW THAT! So when you hurt yourself or experience something that may seem like it is going to completely paralyze or stop your journey, just know that there are alternatives that will help you to continue to reach your goals!

    Beautiful blog!! I needed to hear this sooo much this morning. So sorry for your sprain - when I had one a few mths ago, I kept putting ice on it for 15 mins. a few times a day and kept it elevated on a chair or, if in bed, under a few pillows. emoticon and thank you for this blog! emoticon *hug* emoticon

    I keep a old sock full of rice in the freezer to put on sprains etc. good blog emoticon

    Thanks for the encouragement! I've had my share of set backs lately. I don't think I'm as confident as you, but I am progressively making better choices through the trial rather than worse. That's hard fought success. If I were you, I'd remember to flap my upper body. Arms can do cardio too! Wishing you the best!
