Getting Back On Track

Hey there!

First of all, I want to say thank you to the people who sere so supportive of my last blog entry. It does help to know that I am not alone, that I am not the only one who falters. Thank you :)

I have been using the past two days to get back on track with my Paleo plan. My meals have been slightly boring, but I'm just trying to re-establish the routine I was getting so good about last week. Breakfast this morning was scrambled eggs with salsa and avocado, and lunch was sauteed chicken in olive oil and vegetables. I haven't had dinner yet, but I'm thinking of making a platter of sausage and vegetables. I usually end up eating dinner when I get off work, which is pretty late, but I'd rather eat late than skip a meal.

I did pretty well staying Paleo yesterday, and I have definitely noticed that when I eat this way, I sleep better. I don't think it can be considered a coincidence at this point. I have noticed that, the days I have been really good about following Paleo guidelines, I fall asleep easier and sleep through the night. This is different from when I have "junk food" (I.E. starchy dinners, grain heavy meals.) Like I said, I eat pretty late after work, and those heavier foods affect my sleep. I'm thinking that, even after my 30 days is up, I will stay Paleo for most meals, especially my after work dinners. But I will probably re-introduce certain foods, and just follow my own personalized program.

I have also noticed that my skin is clearing up noticeably. I have had problems with slight acne in the past, but my acne has cleared up in the past week, and my skin has been less of the pinkish-red I associate with a break out. We'll see how my skin does since I fell off the Paleo wagon two days ago. I'm wondering if I'll see a difference with a brief diversion.

    If you are bored with your meals, I recommend Pinterest. I got to the same point. I was bored with my own creations and have been trying a lot of different things from there. They have a lot of Paleo and Primal recipes. emoticon

    Great focus! Eating healthily certainly does make a difference to our skin, sleep and moods - I've been experiencing the same thing. My skin is positively glowing and when I go out all I now wear is a tinted moisturiser and I can easily get away with just that. Before I'd need the whole foundation and powder thing on top!
    When I was eating just fruit and veg last week I slept so deep and so well and work up completely refreshed each day. After introducing other foods back into my diet I don't sleep anywhere near as sound. I miss that but I can't live on just fruit and veg so I'm experimenting to find a good balance. Keep it up, you are doing great!
