Ireland 2013 part 2

Sunday, September 29, 2013

Okay, after a few days in Dublin, we rented a car and hit the road (on the left side). First stop....

Rock of Cashel

Lunch at Granny's...best chicken soup in the world

Paul photo bomb of Blarney Castle, and yes, we both kissed the Blarney Stone lol!!

Spent the night in cute fishing village of Kinsale on the southern coast

On to the Dingle Peninsula...first stop Inch Beach (where parts of Ryan's Daughter were filmed).

GREEN farmland on Dingle

Sunset as we arrived at our Couminole Cottage on the tip of the Dingle Peninsula

Little anniversary gifts left in the cottage from our hosts, so sweet of them!

Couminole Beach moonrise

Where's my pot o'gold?!

Our home for a week, mountains in the backyard and the sea in the front :-)

View from the cottage

Couminole Beach from the little café down the street from cottage

Our anniversary hike starting at Clogher Strand

Met some curious cows up on the cliffs

Everywhere you turn, stunning scenery and constant changes in sun, clouds, shadow. This is a view of the Three Sisters.

So many pubs in Dingle town, so little time!!

So fun to hike in the fields behind the cottage!

This is one of fav shots of the Dingle Peninsula cliffs

We came across the schoolhouse from Ryan's Daughter on one of our hikes

Enjoying a quiet morning in our side yard

Side yard framed in fuschia

Tea time

Post-kayaking on Dingle Harbor (we caught glimpses of Fungie the dolphin)

Our backyard goat for the week

Another view of our cozy cottage

I think I reached the max size for a blog on Spark because it won't let me add any more pics.

Hope you enjoy.

Now that was a way to get the feel of Ireland by staying there in that cottage---looks like you had a lovely time.

Again, thanks for sharing your great pictures. We also loved the Dingle Peninsula but not necessarily the trip up that NARROW road on a bus!
