My relationship with food

Saturday, September 21, 2013

Spark coach prompt today was to blog about my relationship with food. As I think about food I don't know that it is particularly bad one. I like to graze mostly eating without thinking about calories. I love fruit and vegetables BUT I love candy! I have weaned myself of that addiction with spark coach and those cravings are mostly gone.
What isn't so healthy about food for me is I equate it to how successful I am in life! I think I am doing well if I have a freezer and pantry full of food. If I can afford to go out to eat a lot then I must be successful. Eating out as we all know is a calorie landline. So,I've really cut that WAY back too.

We all have some addictions. It's good to face them from time to time.

Hmm, I know what you mean about a freezer full of food. It must be a Montana thing. My DH bought an entire beef. As of last month, we are empty nesters. I get tired of beef.
It will take us a long time to even make a dent in it. But a freezer full will keep us going through the winter. And a successful hunting season puts even more meat in the freezer.

Good luck! This is a tough place to eat like normal people!

Sounds like you are making the right steps in your mind to safeguard against overeating in the future.
Have a look in that pantry and set yourself a new challenge.
I had a pantry full of food; I have given it a very good clean out. Spent time learning how to use herbs and spices to add interest to my food without adding the calories.

I am learning new skills to. I am exploring japanese cooking for the first time. Full of flavours without the calories.
Good luck on your weight loss adventure emoticon
