How to Prepare for a visit to see your doctor.

Monday, September 16, 2013

I always take notes about what te doctor had told me.
I always have the receipts which list the names of my medicines with the dosage, etc.
Charts & logbooks to show my ( hopefully) progress.
Make a list of questions that you may have.
Copies of blood tests & other tests.
A list of my other drs.
A list of any procedures that I may have undergone.
List your allergies.

I always try to have the answers to any questions that may arise.
You Must be your own advocate or at least bring on like a Family member or a trusted Friend or even an Ombudsman.
Do what you must to protect yourself from medical mistakes.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO true! I know I've had to be on top of things with being a medical proxy for my dad, if it wasn't for me keeping on the doctors he'd of died 3 times!
I also insisted when I thought my son had lyme and they told me it was just growing pains, it took 4 lyme tests but I was right!!!!!!!!!!!!! had I listened to these doctors who know nothing about my son I'd hate to think the condition my son would be in now.
Also for my hubby I've insisted on biopsies when doctors say well we can wait and see if he has lung cancer.... NOWAY thank god biopsy came back negative, but who wants to live in limbo for 6 months??????????? now he has a lump under his arm and doc said well I wouldn't be concerned of course he wouldn't hahaha he's not in love with my husband hahahaha I am!!!! So hubby is getting it removed next week! if it's something I want it caught early, I never want to say I should of.....
