The 135 plateau- New reward system

Thursday, September 12, 2013

So, I am stuck at 135 for some weeks. The truth is that I am not doing a very intense effort while I am on exams period. But I eat within range, and I exercise moderately for sure 4 times a week. That alone would make the scale move before, even if it would be for just a little. But now it won't go below 135. It went 134 once, but after 2 days it was back to 136...damn.

There is not much I can do now. At least not for the next 2 weeks (when my exams end). I cannot add more exercise, or spend time to try different things in my nutrition. That probably means that my progress will be slow. I don't mind that as long as there will be some progress made. I just have to be patient and keep being motivated, even when I don't get the results I want as soon as I was hoping.

So to keep me motivated, I decided to renew my reward system , which truth be told was not very effective. My goals were set too far away.
So I made a new reward system inspired by 4A-HEALTHY-BMI. Mini-goals of losing 1% of my body weight! These new much more achievable goals will be:

122.85 (or 123 goal weight)

In addition to the goals, I also changed the rewards! Before it would be buying myself something small that I want, not anything specific. Now the reward will be a custom made t-shirt. I am a fan-girl and I always wanted to make t-shirts of the stuff I love, but I never did. I guess in total they will be costly, but one at a time it is not such a big deal, and they will be a very cool and specific rewards that will keep me focused on my goal! They will be great as exercise clothing too emoticon

You can see here some ideas that I liked: (mostly HP and whedonverse stuff).

That's all for now! Have a wonderful weekend!

Good plan. I think sometimes stress plays a roll in weight plateaus. Maybe once your exams are done you'll get right back to losing.

Sounds like you're doing great! I know it can be frustrating when you reach a plateau but I remember months ago when you were struggling to eat in range and exercise! You've come a long way, and especially after losing weight it may be good for your body to stabilize at the new weight. Hope you're doing well, glad to see you're still at it!!
